Cassandra Carter Presents David Kleinberg

Designer David Kleinberg has been influencing the design world for the past 30+ years. As a boy he always had an interest in houses but always thought he would become an architect and not an interior designer. He graduated from Trinity College in 1976 with a BA in Liberal Arts. After graduation Kleinberg headed to New York and worked for Denning & Fourcade and then at Mara Palmer. Then in 1981 he gained the majority of his experience while working closely with Sister Parish and Albert Hadley at Parish-Hadley Associates. After 16 years of designing at Parish-Hadley Kleingberg left and started his own firm, David Kleinberg Design Associates.

Kleinbergs trademark can be described as “redefining a modern, understated sensibility." He often uses clean lines and his designs are usually linear and sculpted. We putting a room together likes to create some kind of symmetry without using identical pieces. He enjoys a more neutral color palette and believes that the use of color used with some restraint is much more effective in design. Kleinberg lists Henri Samuel, Jacques Grange, Alberto Pinto, Albert Hadley as people he is influenced by. He as recently launched his own rug collection in association with Patterson, Flynn & Martin and is currently working on his own fabric line. David Kleinberg has been published in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, House Beautiful and House & Garden magazines.
