Kelly Hoppen was born in Cape Town, South Africa. Her love for design was influenced by her parents, her father worked in the fashion and her mother was a business woman dealing with antique maps and books. As far as her career, Kelly began at a young age of 17. She is famous for her color selections in using muted tones such as taupe. Kelly has devoted the past 25 years to design and developing a style involving straight lines, strict symmetry, neutral color and a splash of eclectic. She combines style, luxury, and simplicity which creates a successful outcome towards her work.
Her cool, modernist aesthetic is at once timeless and at the cutting-edge of style of today. She has appeared in pages of magazines like Architectural Digest, as well the books she has written such as East Meets West and Monochromatic Home.
