Malory Anderson Presents Albert Hadley

Albert Hadley

Albert Hadley grew up in Nashville, Tennessee with his politically important family. He had a eye for design when he was five years old. He would analyze every room he entered. He joined the war, just like his favorite interior designer had done earlier. He grew alot from that personally and was a better person because of it. He later visited New York City and fell in love. He visited every interior design firm, all of them gave the advice to go to Parsons School of Design.

He right away became a student at Parsons School of design and later was asked to become a member of faculty there. He love his job and is very experience in helping young designers. Albert became good friends with Mrs. Brown from McMillan Inc., the most prestious design firm in the nation at the time. Albert became an employee of McMillan shortly after he met Mrs. Brown.

Sister Parish became a good friend of Alberts, they completed each other. Albert and she created Hadley-Parish in the early 1960's. They designed the white house together as their first project. After many successful designs and years together Sister passed away, leaving the company to Albert. He kept it for a few years and then start Albert Hadley Associates in 1999. He is known for his classical designs with a touch of modernism in them. He feels strongly that you can not just wake up one day and say you are a great designer, you have to work for it. Young designers have to work hard to find their style and bring something new to the design world. “It’s what you can achieve for the simplest person. Glamour is part of it But glamour is not the essence. Design is about discipline and reality, not about fantasy beyond reality.”
